The very first test run for the TFE731 took place in 1970 right on Garrett’s plant in sunny California. As soon as 1972, the first model was already rolling into production and off of the assembly line for new and innovative machines like the Learjet 35/36. About three years later in 1975, the TFE731 was even named “The Aviation Product Of The Year” by Ziff-Davis Publishing Company.
At its start, the TFE731 was quickly making a name for itself in the Aviation industry and still is today. Aviation and aeronautics have come a very long way since the wright brothers built the first airplane engine in 1903.
